As I run in the hustle and bustle of this house
a man
a woman
call for me to help
It seems that we have misplaced our eyes
for they
were there
and we didn't smile
I tend and try to mend
with foods and drinks
and it seems that they
are nothing
but
lovely
smiling
and my heavy heart
becomes lighter with a smile from them
to me
As they enjoy an evening
So far a night of worry
rushing through
halls
clinging to walls
help me, for I can't stand
my mind had become a mix of words
now no longer
kind
my mind
had ripped my smile
and brought the cold winter wind
but I still tried
We talked
till the room
came quiet
and then we talked
till the doors were deemed to be shut
and then
as the night had come
to deep
as the moon
had long taken its place
I opened my heart and gave my last smile of the day
And got two back
The daily troubles and mainly worries
of chores
of work
and of sunlight fading
came to be a memory behind the eyes of the couple
of 211
as they
listened
and held a peace of me
in their arms
just held
no judging
no heartfelt sorrow from a heartless mind
but a soulful silence
from a beating heart
This day that had been tough
was lost
and the daily struggles
came to dust
as I walked home
with an ear to ear smile
and a soul full of warmth
I hope they don't forget me
211
for I shall remember you
as the ones
who took the time
to smile
and listen to me smile back.
